The division of labour in innovation functions in the process of technological innovation results from the improvement of market transaction efficiency and the escalation of fixed learning cost. The functional division of labour economy is derived from the reduction of overlapped fixed learning cost. The new trend of global technological innovation and the improvement of market transaction efficiency deepen the division of labour in innovation functions and make the sourcing based innovation more important.
