The Ministry of Education in China has issued The Guiding Outline of the Curriculum Construction of Ideological and Political Education in Colleges and Universities, indicating that all the disciplines and subjects in colleges and universities in China have ushered into a new phase to push forward the Ideological and Political Education ( IPE) . Meanwhile, the large-scale online teaching has been implemented during the period of COVID-19,which has brought about opportunities and posed challenges to IPE. To address this, the current study takes the online-and-offline Business English CLIL ( Content and Language Integrated Learning) course “Economics ( in English) ”as the object of action research under the guidance of Multiliteracies Pedagogy to explore how to integrate Ideological and Political elements into the four teaching stages: situated practice, overt instruction, critical framing and transformed practice.
