Abstract: Shi et al. demonstrate an e-fuel cell capable of converting an electrically rechargeable liquid fuel into electricity. They achieve a peak power density of 293 mW cm−2 and an energy efficiency of 42.3% at room temperature, thus demonstrating the potential for powering future electric vehicles.
