In this paper the simulation of electromagnetic transient process occurred in static var compensator (SVC) is presented, which is embedded into the dispatcher trainingsimulator (DTS). In order to ensure the speed and accuracy in DTS, a comprehensive transient simulation method is used, i.e., for the simulation of SVC the electromagnetic model is used and for the simulation of the other parts of the power network the ordinary transient models are used. It is verified by the results of calculation examples that with SVC the voltage level of buses and the transient stability of power system can be effectively improved.en_US
