Near-surface mounted (NSM) FRP reinforcement is emerging as a promising technique for the strengthening of concrete structures, as it offers some real practical advantages over externally bonded FRP reinforcement. This paper presents a state-of-the-art review of the existing international research on NSM reinforcement.Topics covered include materials, bond behaviour, flexural strengthening tests and design recommendations. It provides a basis for further research and application in China.-
