Abstract

本文介绍乔姆斯基关于语法理论的基本构思, 他的哲学理念、思维方式以及研究的方法论; 并且探讨如何理解生成转换语法中的一些基本概念, 讨论与此相关的一些现代语言学基本观点, 如自然语法和语法理论的关系, 语言学研究中的方法论, 以及语言学理论的证伪等, 以期澄清一些不必要的误解, 促进语言学研究的健康发展。 This is a brief but comprehensive discussion of Chomsky’s ideas about grammar, his philosophical belief, his way of thinking and his research methodology. Some basic assumptions in generative-transformation grammar and some basic concepts in contemporary linguistics are also discussed, such as the relation between natural language grammar and theories of grammar, methodology of linguistic studies and the falsification of linguistic theories.
