dcterms.abstract | Method The Kyoto Declaration, spearheaded by Alzheimer’s Disease International, specified the minimum action that should be taken in the care of patients with dementia in different regions with different levels of resources. We compare the present resources allocated to dementia care in Hong Kong SAR with the minimum action policy stated by the Kyoto Declaration. We also compare the support for patients with dementia and their caregivers in Hong Kong SAR with that available in other developed countries and cities. | - |
dcterms.abstract | Result The present services for dementia care in Hong Kong SAR are in the development stage. The Government should take note of the increasing number of elderly people that may develop dementia, and implement health and welfare policy addressing these needs. | - |
