However, conventional single-rotor topologies fall short in applications requiring multi-degree-of-freedom motion control. Dual-rotor configurations with a shared stator address this issue by enabling independent rotor control and expanding the torque-speed range, yet they suffer from mechanical reliability issues caused by centrifugal forces on rotor-PMs. Flux-switching (FS) motors offer a robust alternative with inherently low torque ripple by positioning excitation sources on the stator. This paper proposes a dual-rotor PM synchronous motor (PMSM) with spoke-type stator-PM placed in the middle of the stator slots. The proposed configuration eliminates the risk of PM detachment and enhances mechanical robustness, while an integrated winding simplifies the structure and increases control flexibility. Simulation results validate its electromagnetic decoupling and overall performance. | Keywords: | Dual-rotor FS PMSM Stator-PM |
