This paper looks at discourses about migrant domestic workers (MDW) from different stakeholders to better understand the views these organizations have on MDWs’ social exclusion. Framing this as an issue of intercultural communication, I focus on the ‘cultures of knowledge production’ that are specific to each stakeholder. Findings show that the discourses of the migrant domestic worker-led organizations come from a culture of knowledge production that strongly emphasizes workers’ lived experiences. I show that this perspective usefully challenges social exclusion, but may not be taken up by other stakeholders.
