Abstract: Ths paper ntroduces a mathematcal approach and addtve manufacturng process to customze the mechancal propertes of sheet gyrod boscaffolds and mmckng the ntrcate archtecture of natural bone. By definng the parameters of the level-set equaton, scaffolds wth spatally controlled porosty and ansotropc propertes can be fabrcated though dgtal lght processng and mcrowave heatng. A new susceptor-asssted hybrd pyrolyss-snterng process was developed, resultng n a sgnficant enhancement n qualty and mechancal propertes of the three-dmensonal (3)-prnted ceramc compared to conventonal methods. The enhancements are orgnated from the mproved densficaton, accelerated snterng knetcs, promoton of crstobalte phase transformaton, and reduced defect volume under mcrowave heatng. Sheet gyrod scaffolds wth radally graded porosty and ansotropc propertes were fabrcated. espte the porosty dstrbuton, an ncrease n the unt cell’s aspect rato amplfied the ansotropc mechancal propertes. Ths was also accompaned by a slght decrease n cell prolferaton efficency possbly due to varatons n Gaussan curvatures.
