| Title: | Predictability of noise indices in a high-rise residential environment (L) | Authors: | Tang, SK Chan, WY |
Issue Date: | Sep-2003 | Source: | Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, Sept 2003, v. 114, no. 3, p. 1222-1225 | Abstract: | In the present investigation, daily noise level measurements were carried out at 12 independent sites within the closely packed high-rise residential areas in Hong Kong. Various environmental noise indices are calculated. Their cross-relationships and correlations with the population density and the daily traffic volume are also examined. Results suggest that the Ldn and Lden correlate very well with a multiple regression model, which involves both the population density and traffic volume, for the present site conditions. | Publisher: | AIP Publishing LLC | Journal: | Journal of the Acoustical Society of America | ISSN: | 0001-4966 | EISSN: | 1520-8524 | DOI: | 10.1121/1.1596171 | Rights: | © 2003 Acoustical Society of America.
