Abstract: In order to improve the precision design of walkway boundary, systematic analysis on functional requirements was carried out based on different walkway space nodes in Hong Kong. By reviewing the current situation through literature visualization analysis tool (VOSviewer), it was found that the research on the functional requirements of the walkway boundary was lack of pertinence. Through conducting field study, the authors divided the spatial nodes of Hong Kong walkway into six categories. On the basis of the interaction between people and walkway boundary, the boundary functional requirements of different walkway space nodes were elicited through targeted analysis.
