Abstract: Ignition delay of hypergolic bi propellants of TMEDA and WFNA by their binary droplet collision has been experimentally studied , with the particular emphasis on the effect s of impact parameter, B , which measures the deviation of the collision from the trajectory of head on situation The experimental results reveal a non monotonic effect of the impact parameter. For B slightly larger than 0, the intrinsic deformation and internal flow pattern promote the mixing between the colliding droplet s and hence reduce the ignition delay . If B increases to so that off center separation happens, the hypergolic ignition would be prolonged owing to the less mass transfer .
