dcterms.abstractChinese luxury travelers, a rapidly growing segment of the country’s traveling public, have attracted much attention from the tourism industry. Their motivations to undertake luxury travel are, however, not well understood. To tap into Chinese luxury travelers, this study reviews the literature related to luxury travel, and motivations for travel and luxury consumption, to provide insights into this market. There are 17 motivation dimensions generated from analysis of the literature. By taking Chinese culture into consideration, future research directions on the motivations of Chinese luxury travelers are suggested.-
