Issue Date: | 2018 | Source: | International journal on disability and human development, 2018, v. 17, no. 3, p. 351-365 | Abstract: | This study attempted to identify the success factors in the community-based P.A.T.H.S. Project in Hong Kong. A qualitative study was conducted to collect views from social workers and program workers. Subjective evaluation reports filled by program participants and instructors were also used to support the findings of the focus group interviews. Results showed that the following factors contributed to positive program effects: 1) close relationship between instructors and participants; 2) good program design; 3) good professional skills and techniques of instructors; 4) smooth administrative management; and 5) presence of helping teachers. In conjunction with previous findings, the present study demonstrates the positive impact of the Tier 2 Program of the Project P.A.T.H.S. in promoting positive development of Chinese high school students in Hong Kong. | Keywords: | P.A.T.H.S.
