Chinese contributions to hospitality research : patterns of authorships and collaborations

Abstract

The contributions by China-based authors to the burgeoning Chinese language tourism literature have been accompanied by the growing and well documented appearance in English-language journals by Chinese authors from both within and outside the country. However, there has been adequate quantification and evaluation of Chinese contributions to international hospitality research, including those leading to the formation of networks. The current study examines China-affiliated authorship networks and collaboration patterns in seven top-tier English-language hospitality journals. The authors deploy a bibliometric approach to analyze the evolution of such networks and patterns over three decades. Results of the study contribute to discussions on the progressive internationalization of hospitality research taking account of cultural backgrounds of its knowledge producers. Limitations and opportunities for future research are reflected. 伴随中文旅游学术文献的日益增加，国内外中国旅游学者在英文期刊发稿（出现）的频率及表现也已备受关注。国际款待业研究之中国贡献已有相当多的量化分析与评价。本文就七本英文款待业研究顶尖期刊之中国作者网络与合作模式进行文献计量分析。文章描述了三十年作者网络与合作模式的演变。本文的结果有利于了解款待业研究的日益国际化及其知识创造的文化背景。最后，文章也反思了该研究存在的局限以及未来研究的出路。
