Abstract: Drawing upon the underdeveloped literature on online food-delivery (OFD) services, this exploratory study investigated how OFD services impact hotel catering businesses. Methods of focus groups and the Delphi technique were adopted to explore the impacts of OFD on the hotel catering businesses in China. Results were presented utilizing SWOT analysis. Practical strategies were suggested to help these businesses effectively respond to the rapid development of OFD services in the sharing economy. Hotel catering businesses could benefit from a clear understanding of their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) to co-create business value with OFD platforms.
