Reviewing the state_of_the_art and the trend of railway transport system simulation, this paper simply introduces the characteristics and analyzes their functions of several international railway simulators as well as their application areas. It also discusses the structure of a general railway simulator and reviews the methodology, such as fuzzy set theory, multi_agent system and agent_oriented technology in developing such simulators. Based on the practices of Chinese railway simulation researches, the paper advances the key points with their applications to develop a railway simulator from the viewpoint of technical aspect, including traffic data collection, better integration of professional knowledge and computer skills, sustainable framework of simulator, improving documentation and software validation, and more accumulation of technical content. |
