Abstract: This study aims to trace the development of stative verbs, in particular psych verbs such as ‘love, desire, care’ into imperfective aspect markers, often denoting continuity and/or habituality.
The authors will also examine how and why some of these aspect markers also develop into negative attitudinal markers.
