Issue Date: | 1-Jan-2006 | Source: | Journal of the Optical Society of America B : optical physics, 1 Jan. 2006, v. 23, no. 1, p. 20-25 | Abstract: | An external injection-seeding scheme with selected wavelength feedback to the master Fabry–Perot laser diode is developed to improve the side-mode suppression ratio (SMSR) and extend the wavelength tuning range of the injection-seeded optical short pulses. A SMSR of higher than 31 dB over a wavelength tuning range of 20.4 nm has been obtained. For a SMSR of higher than 40 dB, the wavelength tuning range achieved is 13.8 nm.
