Abstract: Over the past decades, significant efforts have been devoted to the exploration of one-dimensional (1D) mesoporous inorganic nanomaterials, owing to their unique characteristics such as high surface area, large pore volume, tunable pore size as well as 1D configuration, which favor their improved accessibility to active sites and enhanced mass transport/diffusion with interesting and exciting applications. Here, we provide a comprehensive overview on the designed growth of 1D mesoporous inorganic nanomaterials with fruitful morphologies. Subsequently, the state-of-the-art research activities of their inspired applications were systematically summarized, including energy conversion and storage, catalysis, sensor, adsorption and so forth. At the end, the prospects and challenges in this area have been discussed.
