Abstract: The invention discloses an application of a luminescent film prepared from a cellulose derivative as a food packaging film. The cellulose derivative is hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose modified by a methacrylic acid group. The transparent and flexible film not only has relatively high mechanical strength, biocompatibility and thermal stability, but also has adjustable permeability and good ultraviolet resistance. More importantly, even if the film is exposed to strong ultraviolet radiation, the change of the performance of the film can be neglected, which demonstrates high durability of the CT film. In addition, the film has a self-indicating capability and can show the change of luminous intensity in the thawing process of a frozen meat product. All the characteristics show that the film has the potential of serving as a dual self-indicating food packaging material, and the material not only can protect food from being influenced by illumination, but also can maintain the packaging internal environment through the adjustable permeability and wettability of the material, so that the aim of prolonging the shelf life of the packaged food is achieved.
