dcterms.abstractA transparent ultrasonic transducer apparatus for multi-mode optical imaging on a target object is provided. The device comprises a transparent piezoelectric transducer, one or more wires and an optical lens. A transparent piezoelectric transducer having a first acoustic impedance is configured to receive acoustic waves from a target. The transparent piezoelectric transducer has a first surface and a second surface. The first surface and the second surface are coated with transparent conductive coatings. An optical lens is in contact with and optically coupled to the first surface of the transparent piezoelectric transducer. The optical lens is made of a material having a second acoustic impedance, and the first acoustic impedance and the second acoustic impedance are substantially similar to each other to minimize acoustic impedance mismatch, thereby improving sensitivity of the device.-
