Abstract: This case study highlights the successful implementation of the flipped classroom approach in the course "Advanced English Reading and Writing Skills" (ELC2011), taught by Ms. Johanna Sandberg from the English Language Centre. It details the rationale for adopting the flipped classroom model, outlines the step-by-step implementation process, examines its positive impact on student learning, and discusses the challenges encountered. The case study also identifies best practices, such as using collaborative online learning tools to enhance pre-class engagement, guiding students in the use of Perusall, and actively reminding students to participate in pre-class activities. Overall, the case demonstrates improvements in questioning techniques during teaching and emphasizes the importance of ensuring consistent student participation in pre-class activities.
