Nicky LAI, felt deeply honored to be awarded the Champion of the 6ixty8ight Creator Competition 2024 for her "Lady Ballet" lingerie collection. This competition provided a fantastic platform to express her design philosophy, drawing inspiration from ballet's elegance and strength. Nicky's journey involved studying ballet costumes and experimenting with fabrics to achieve a balance between aesthetic beauty and practical comfort. The “Lady Ballet” collection included bralette and brief sets with delicate lace and a bodysuit combining sheer lace and satin, capturing the fluidity of ballet. She overcame challenges by ensuring the lingerie flowed with the body, much like a dancer. PolyU's support, particularly from Nico Liu, was instrumental. Throughout this project, Nicky honed her technical skills in fabric selection and improved her communication and collaboration abilities, marking a pivotal moment in her design career.-
