Eventful Reflections: A Journey in Leadership

Abstract

Maggie reflects on her pivotal experiences as an event organizer during her final year of study. She recounts her leadership roles in organizing IMPACT 2022 and the 2nd World Summit for Deans of Independent Schools of Hospitality and Tourism. These roles involved managing schedules, coordinating venues, overseeing VIP arrangements, and facilitating communication. Maggie discusses the challenges she faced, particularly in time management and team communication, in a group of 30 members. She underscores the significance of effective delegation and fostering teamwork. Grateful for the guidance of her instructor, Ms. Pia Kwan, and opportunities for internships and exchange programs, Maggie acknowledges the development of her skills. She concludes by reflecting on the lessons in emotional intelligence and leadership, highlighting the importance of listening, supporting, and continual growth in leadership roles.
