Abstract: The single-stranded coordination polymer [Ag7(tpst)4(ClO4)2(NO3)5](n) was synthesized by the self-assembly of a silver salt and the multidentate ligand 2,4,6-tris[(4-pyridyl)methylsulfanyl]-1,3,5-triazine (tpst). The [Ag7(tpst)4] units form nanosized rings, which share Ag atoms to form one-dimensional polymer chains (see schematic structure). The anions and solvent molecules are present as guests in the tubes.
