Title: My Printing Machine
Authors: Cheung, Tsz Ching Emily
Issue Date: Apr-2023
Abstract: My Printing Machine focused on the making process of images that contain memories of the Sui Fai Factory Estate in Hong Kong. The industrial factory was facing demolition which implied the disappearance of not only the trade itself but the loss of tenants and the removal of manufacturing machinery. It was an experimental project that produced curated memory and established a sense of loss through material decay. The project suggested an alternative way of approaching heritage and gave a certain dimension of freedom in expanding its definition.
