Air conditioning mask

Abstract

In a mask (100), ambient air is filtered by a disposable surgical mask (180) to form breathable air. The mask (100) has a frame (150) having a cavity (151) therein for storing breathable air for a user to breathe. A temperature conditioning unit (110) mounted to the frame (150) provides air conditioning of the breathable air by drawing the breathable air from the cavity (151) to a heat exchanger (425) using a fan (421), the heat exchanger (425) being in contact with the thermoelectric module (410) to transfer heat to the outside of the frame (150) by a thermoelectric effect to cool the drawn breathable air and condense water vapor therein. The condensed water vapor is trapped by a heat exchanger (425). Cool, dry, breathable air is released back to the chamber (151), providing thermal comfort to the user during breathing.
