Abstract: Bioaerosol deposition is a prime concern in studying respiratory infection. However, the existing drag force expression by Stoke's law (K/Re) for Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) simulations does not give promising results in calculating non-spherical bioaerosol deposition. Based on 13 common indoor bioaerosol species, a novel drag force expression has been recently proposed and the accuracy of CFD simulations for deposition patterns was significantly improved. In this study, the deposition pattern of other bioaerosol, Aerococcus Viridans (ATCC 700406) is determined based on the new novel drag force expression. The predicted deposition patterns were compared with the measured ones in a ventilated chamber and the deviation was found not significant (p>0.05, t-test). Application of drag constants in future CFD simulations for studying bioaerosol deposition patterns in ventilated spaces is thus recommended.
