dcterms.abstractA high frequency circuit breaker (HFCB) and a control circuit for a HFCB are provided. The HFCB includes a control circuit, a sensing circuit and a power circuit. The sensing circuit senses at least one of a high frequency leakage current and a high frequency current passing through a load and the power circuit connects and disconnects power to the load. The control circuit includes an analog comparator and a switched state retention circuit. The analog comparator compares an output from the sensing circuit to a current reference and the switched state retention circuit provides a control signal to the power circuit based on an output from the analog comparator, to force the power circuit to selectively connect or disconnect power to the load.-
