Abstract

脂肪肝，與我何干？ 本港約有三成肥胖人口，四分一港人患有脂肪肝。肥胖會增加患上脂肪肝的風險並可能引發肝癌，可惜目前並沒有註冊藥物能治療脂肪肝。 有請理大應用生物及化學科技學系的副教授李建華博士講解有關腸道微生物療法，以及如何利用腸道微生物來控制脂肪肝並抑制肝癌生長。 Fatty liver, does it matter with you? Around 30% of the Hong Kong population are obese, and a quarter of Hong Kong adults suffer from fatty liver disease. Fatty liver disease is strongly associated with obesity and may even progress to liver cancer. Unfortunately, there is currently no approved fatty liver drug in Hong Kong. Dr Terence Lee, Associate Professor of the Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology, is pleased to share his research interest on the potential of gut microbiota-targeted therapies to ameliorate fatty liver disease and liver cancer growth.
