「太陽能」是公認的可持續清潔環保能源,太陽能光伏發電已成為新興產業。利用Silicon 矽等無機半導體的傳統光伏發電造價昂貴,科學家便把目光轉向「有機光伏材料」。這些材料擁有獨特的機械柔性、可打印性和可調的光吸收特性,將成為物聯網(IoT)、智能可穿戴設備上能源供給的絕佳候選者。今集有請應用生物及化學科技助理教授何卓琳博士為我們講解一下!

Solar energy is popular renewable resource due to its abundance, safety, unpolluted characteristics and not subject to monopoly. Dr Ho Cheuk Lam, Assistant Professor from the Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology, has developed organic molecular photovoltaic materials which help lower the cost and enhance efficiency of converting solar energy into electricity. Moreover, the bendable and stretchable solar cells printed on backpack, bag or installed exterior walls could turn them into power generation device !
