PolyU Science Research Impact 2022 EP05 - Enhancement of Ultrasound Transducers

超聲波掃描是非常重要的醫療診斷技術。該技術利用高頻聲波對人體內的器官和組織進行掃描並實時成像。除了產前診斷,超聲波亦可以用來診斷其他身體器官的異常情況。超聲波診斷不像X光般會產生輻射,是一種非侵入性又安全的疾病檢測方法。

理大理學院戴吉岩教授及其研究團隊多年來一直專注於超聲波探頭的研發。他們成功開發出多種超聲波探頭,包括聚焦的單體探頭到陣列式探頭,更大大提高了這些探頭的性能和影像清晰度,從而幫助醫護人員進行診斷和治療。

Ultrasound imaging is an important clinical diagnostic technology that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce real-time images of organs and tissues inside the body. It helps monitor a baby’s development during pregnancy and diagnose abnormalities in other organs. Unlike x-rays, ultrasound is safe, non-invasive and does not emit radiation.

PolyU Science researcher Prof. Dai Jiyan and his team have focused on developing medical ultrasound probes for years. They have developed many kinds of ultrasonic probes, ranging from focused single element probes to array-type transducers, and have significantly improved the performance of these probes to aid diagnoses and therapeutic treatments in hospitals.
