Abstract: The synthesis of polysiloxane-based liquid crystals containing 3-(4-amidophenyl)sydonone moiety was carried out. The thermal behaviors of the polymers were measured with a hot-stage polarizing microscope. The sydnonyl side-chain liquid crystal poly(methyl siloxane) (SLCPH) sample showed a typical smectic schliren texture at 150°C. The incorporation of undecenamido phenyl sydnone into polysiloxane increased thermal transition temperatures.
