Abstract: This paper presents the analysis of different drive circuit topologies for switched reluctance motor drives used in electric vehicles. The switched-reluctance machine is famous for its fault tolerance and good dynamic response. A number of circuits are analyzed, which include the classical circuit, Oulton circuit, resonant circuit and the circuit developed by the authors. The analysis is based on their reliability, dynamic response, EMI and control method
