Abstract: The effect of electropulsing treatment (ET) on the microstructure of Mg-3Al-1Zn (AZ31) alloy was investigated. Combing with the calculated temperature of the sample after ET, it was found that electropulsing accelerated dynamic recrystallization (DRX) at a relatively low temperature and a high strain rate. Based on the interplay between the accumulation and annihilation effects of electropulsing, a tentative mechanism of DRX induced by electropulsing was discussed.
