Abstract: We propose an accurate laser linewidth estimation technique based on the decision-aided maximum likelihood carrier phase estimator (DA-ML). Its performance is verified in M-ary quadrature amplitude modulation (MQAM) within a wide range of the laser linewidths and SNR values.
