Abstract: The fixation of cyclodextrins, which act as a depot for substances important for skin care, on cosmetic textiles, offers new applications for the use of cosmetic active substances. An important aspect of a cosmetic substances delivery system is its biocompatibility, which is the ability of a material to perform with an appropriate host response in a specific application. The use of cyclodextrin is seen to have permanent fixation on textiles among the different delivery systems. Cyclodextrins, which are rigid molecules with an apolar cavity, are formed during the enzymatic degradation of starch. It has been observed that the chemical fixation of cyclodextrins can be achieved by the reaction of textile fiber functional groups with the functional groups in the cyclodextrin. Cyclodextrin derivatives also have other functional groups such as the monochlorotriazinyl group (MCT) that react through substitution of the chlorine atom by a negative polymer side group. A major advantage of cyclodextrin-textile systems is that the attachment of the cyclodextrin group is achieved by relatively simple and well-developed textile treatment techniques. Another advantage is that it can be guaranteed that the cyclodextrin groups are mainly attached to the textile surface that will form the interface with with the skin.
