Abstract: This article discusses the historical background of the founding of the Lords Zhou and Wang Memorial Study Hall in 1684 and its contemporary significance for local cultural education and historic preservation. It also aims to highlight some traditional norms and values as embodied in cultural relics and manages to explain why they are still of great significance to contemporary society. In addition, potential connections between historic preservation, civic engagement, and citizenship education for students are explored. As a whole, the Study Hall serves as an ideal place for teaching history and engaging students in understanding the meaningful interactions between history and our contemporary world.
