Abstract

Discusses the need for teaching methods other than the conventional lecture format for teaching law to construction students, based on the author's experiences of teaching a foundation law course to first year students of the Department of Building and Real Estate, Polytechnic University of Hong Kong. Compares the outcomes for students taught with active and passive techniques, as evidenced by focus groups and course assessments. Considers the optimum examination methodology.
