Abstract: For most of wireless charging applications, large tolerance to the misalignment is required to the compensation topologies. A primary series-parallel compensation has been proposed and recognized as a compensation with the improved misalignment behavior. In this paper, it is demonstrated that the primary series-parallel compensation is equivalent to the primary series-parallel compensation. The detailed performance analysis and the comparisons between primary series- parallel and primary series compensations are analyzed in this paper. Finally, contactless resonant converter with SP/P and S/P compensation is constructed to verify the validation of equivalency analysis. Experimental results also verify the equivalency of the two compensations in misalignment behavior.
