dcterms.abstract | There are constant interactions between the clients and designers during the briefing and early design stage in a building project. Problems usually stem from the fact that clients cannot fully understand the habitual representation of the design, such as 2D drawings, due to their limited comprehensive in three-dimensional space. Another problem is also the lack of a framework to guide the inexperienced clients to review the design solution systematically. This paper introduces a case study of using a User Pre-Occupancy Evaluation Method (UPOEM) in a campus project. In this case study, this UPOEM is compared with the traditional designer-client communication method on the effect of improving clients' performance. The result of this case study indicated that the UPOEM provided a potential to improve the clients' performance at understanding the future built environment as well as design review. | - |
