This presentation showcases part of the development of an ongoing textile design research project titled Creation of Interactive Textiles with Adoption of Environmental Sensitivity. By combining design creativity, interactive ideologies, human perception theories and textile craftsmanship, the research project investigates and develops value-added smart textiles. As part of the parent research development, this presentation exhibits a cross-thread achievement combining thermo- and photo- sensitivities in interactive textile design. A textile prototype was artfully created by combining the integration measures and skilful textile techniques explored previously. The hybrid textile creation is able to detect and respond to different ambient environmental conditions, and is further capable to function as an interactive platform. With reference to the textile piece created, the ideology of interactivity and human perception on environmental sensitive textiles are appointed as the initiators for discussion.en_US
