Wenchuan Earthquake is one of the worst in China’s history. The needs of children,as with many other vulnerable groups, deserve serious attention. This article aims to review and consolidate the literature available in China on working with children in different natural disaster contexts. We found 31 relevant articles, most of which focused on the individual psyche of children, with a "deficit" orientation. Based on social work’s "person-in-environment" perspective and the first author’s first hand experience working in "5.12" earthquake affect region, this article suggests an analytical framework and practice implication for working with children in disaster situation in main-land China.-
