Abstract: With the large-scale wind power generation connected to the modern power grid, the energy-intensive load (EI load) has reached a certain scale at the same time, while the vast majority of the EI load connects directly to the power grid by extra high voltage transmission line. According to the physical characteristics and historical data, the continuous adjustment characteristic of the EI load is analyzed; based on this particular characteristic, a mathematical model for the EI load is established. While aiming to abate or reduce the power loss, an optimization model that is based on the load regulation characteristics of the EI load is constructed, which is optimized by the particle swarm optimization algorithm (PSOA). With an example of the IEEE-14 nodes system, the optimal method, based on the load regulation characteristics of the EI load, is analyzed and its feasibility is verified.
