Abstract: This paper investigates the influence of lightning current waveform on magnetic fields in a building struck by lightning through numerical simulation. The effectiveness of the simulation method was validated experimentally on scaled models. Magnetic field simulations are carried out under different lightning current waveforms. It is found that the rise time of the wavefron has a significant influence on the magnetic fields, but the influence of the shape of the waveform is negligible.
