Abstract: The paper examines briefly the dynamics of the blog and the development of civil society in China. First, the paper introduces the basic features of the blog followed by a brief account of its penetration in China. Second, it discusses an indigenous concept of civil society and its relation with the Internet in general and the blog in particular. Third, it uses two blog examples to illustrate the possible development of civil society in China.
