Abstract: The repertory grid method based on personal construct psychology was used to evaluate the effectiveness of the Project Astro in Hong Kong. Thirty participants (N=30) were invited to complete a repertory grid that was based on personal construct theory to provide both quantitative and qualitative data in measuring self-identity changes after joining the program. Both quantitative and qualitative data generated from the grid method showed that the participants perceived positive changes in the selfrepresentation system joining the program. This study provides additional support for the effectiveness of Project Astro in the Chinese context. This study also shows that repertory grid method is a useful evaluation method to measure self-identity changes in participants in drug prevention programs.
