Abstract: Many knowledge management (KM) programs failed because the organizations are lack of understanding of their knowledge needs. Knowledge audit can reveal the organization’s KM needs, its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats and risks for the implementation of KM. Although knowledge audit has been identified as an important activity in the knowledge management, there is lack of a systematic approach in its conduction and the audit practice varies with different industries and companies. This paper presents a systematic knowledge audit approach which has been successfully trial implemented in a prestigious motor manufacturing company.
